About the Department
The department focuses on development of professional competencies among pre-service teachers. Only the qualified women candidates get opportunity of pursuing B.Ed training in this department. A three day RBD Model B.Ed Orientation Programme has been prepared and implemented in view of providing fresh induction exposure to the B.Ed trainees. The department is privileged to avail gracious visit of eminent resource persons from the reputed universities like University of Allahabad, Allahabad, CCS University, Meerut, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, Banasthali University, Niwai, Rajasthan and other national level institutes and departments of Teacher Education. The department organizes seminars, workshops, special lectures and exhibitions to strengthen the instructional and capacity building activities. Trainees are encouraged to undertake project works on the issues related to environment education and women empowerment. A micro teaching workshop is organized every year. The department has compiled a micro teaching module. The department is equipped with adequate furniture, a resource-rich library, placed in central library of the Mahavidyalaya, an ET Lab, a Psychological Lab and a Science Lab. The department provides technology supported classroom. Most of the lectures are transacted through PowerPoint presentation, group discussion, brain storming, constructivist approach, advance organizer, programmed instruction, lecture cum demonstration etc. The trainees also learn through course-specific assignments, seminars and project works. They are also made involved in different sessional works such as psychological testing, operation of audio-visual teaching aids, conducting case studies, scouts and guiding and organization of cultural activities. The department adopts continuous feedback system through conducting unit tests, session-end home examination, individual / group guidance and regular observations by the supervisors. The trainees undergo rigorous micro teaching, simulated teaching and practice teaching. The department seeks feedbacks from peer team teacher educators, trainees, alumni organization, parents teachers association (PTA) and the internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) for self-appraisal and quality improvement.
