About the Department
RBD Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bijnor offers a dynamic Faculty of Physical Education, dedicated to promoting the physical wellbeing and overall development of its students. The department provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes both theoretical and practical aspects of physical education, aiming to cultivate fitness, sportsmanship, and leadership qualities in students. The faculty is equipped with experienced educators who specialize in various sports and physical activities. They focus on developing the students skills in sports, teaching them about health and fitness, and preparing them for careers in physical education, sports management, and coaching. Physical Education is the structured alignment of an individuals daily activities, providing systematic direction to exercises, games and other related tasks. The overarching objective of this field is to train students for a healthy body, mind and soul fostering a positive attitude towards life. This discipline instils life skills, discipline, patience, cooperation, team spirit, and leadership.The Department of Physical Education was established in 2007 and has since been dedicated to developing and enhancing students athletic skills to achieve the goals of physical education and sports. According to the National Education Policy, a Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) for Physical Education was introduced as an optional subject from the academic session 2022-2023. Physical Education is a multidisciplinary field that includes subjects such as Health Education, Yoga, History of Physical Education, Sports Medicine, Sports Training, and more. The department works meticulously with the help of a Sports Calendar, which is planned annually, considering various sports events at intercollege and interuniversity levels. To cultivate students interest in sports. The department provides various facilities, including computers, sports equipment, sports kits, and lush green grounds for different games such as athletics, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, kho kho, table tennis, wrestling, cricket, and hockey. Additionally, yoga classes are conducted regularly to promote physical and mental wellbeing. These classes focus on the health benefits of yoga and encourage students to incorporate it into their daily lives. In both theory and practical classes, a variety of teaching methods are used, including lectures, demonstrations, field visits, and presentations via OHP and LCD projectors.
