Introduction

Overview of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a vital body established in higher educational institutions in India as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure, as recommended by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The primary aim of IQAC is to develop a systematic approach to enhance and sustain quality in academic and administrative performance.

IQAC functions as a facilitative and participative unit of the institution. It is involved in planning, guiding, and monitoring quality assurance (QA) and quality enhancement (QE) activities. Rather than being a record-keeping unit, the IQAC becomes a part of the institution’s system and works towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.

Key Functions:

Developing quality benchmarks and parameters.

Facilitating a learner-centric environment.

Ensuring stakeholder feedback mechanisms.

Organizing workshops and seminars on quality-related themes.

Documenting institutional activities and best practices.

Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.

IQAC plays a proactive role in promoting a culture of quality, ensuring that the institution adheres to its vision and mission while adapting to evolving educational standards. It serves as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement, helping institutions align with global best practices in higher education.
